Who’s who
First, the Tribal Council…
Evil Sara, often called Sara: The best friend. We met in college as freshmen (that would be 1997). She and I both managed to make it out of the Louisiana Scholar’s College alive with theses and degrees we have yet to actually use. She is beautiful and talented and always thinks that my bad ideas are the most awesome thing she’s ever heard. Part muse, part enabler, I love her tons.
Her first wedding inspired this webpage.
Sabine: The separated-at-birth fraternal twin. She’s a frequent topic of conversation. She’s 30-something, lives in Texas, is taking over the world at an amazing speed, and has a bodacious rack. She’s a gadget-whore and a caffine fiend, and we play a great game of “who’s in charge and who’s the wingman” that has lots of great back and forth that nobody but us can keep up with. She can make me laugh til I stop breathing and she can make me sit down in the middle of the street and cry. We have a folding-chair clause, please do not make us invoke it. She is very fond of hearing the words “you were right, and I was wrong.” Those words are often relevant to the topic at hand.
James: He’s TheEx, but still one of my best friends. He didn’t even have to wait the 6-month trial period before getting to be JustAFriend. He’s also the roommate.
John and Squid: 2 boys I’ll never shake. Squid and I have been tied up in each other’s lives since the 4th grade; we spent our high-school years playing D&D, jumping off bridges, and drinking together. John entered the scene when we were 15 as the best friend of a guy I met at an academic decathalon and ended up dating; a year later the boy was gone, we kept John. They both managed to land wonderful wives who put up with their crap and keep them out of jail. John and I were in Squid’s wedding and Squid and I were in John’s wedding… and that means that if I ever get married again, I’m going to have two of the tallest bridesmaids EVER! Coincidentally, if the 3 of us are allowed to interact with the general population without proper adult supervision, somebody may end up going to jail… and it’s not our fault. Everybody knows not to let us play unattended.
Oh, right, and they’re both my exes, too, but it really doesn’t matter one bit ever unless we’re talking blackmail, for which there is no statute of limitations.

Minions and Tools: In the SCA, I have proteges- 3 as of this writing. Becca, Bridget, and Magnus are my minions. “Minion” is a good thing- that means I can give you a job and trust you to do it without dropping the ball or needing to be checked up on.
My Tools are folks I keep around me that garner the same level of respect- it’s just not formalized within the confines of an official relationship. I love my tools… I can do anything as long as I have the proper tools at my disposal.
